API integrations of !SEMTools

!SEMTools for Excel is a powerful add-in that greatly extends the spreadsheet with integrations with many external APIs. It’s a kind of Swiss army knife for digital marketers: SEO and PPC specialists, web analysts and webmasters.

Here is a short overview of all API integrations currently available in the add-in. Where there is a link, click it for details; where there isn’t, the article on the tool is still in progress.

API integrations are available in the PRO version of !SEMTools.

Neural networks and language models (LLM)

This block turns Excel into a text processing center powered by AI. You can send texts from cells to different models: process a selected list of queries or individual cells with your own prompt. All tools are collected in the AI tools in Excel section.

• ChatGPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, Claude: integrations with the most popular language models, right from Excel.
• OpenRouter.ai, Ollama, LM Studio: access to an even wider range of models. OpenRouter is an online aggregator, while Ollama and LM Studio run models locally on your computer, so the data never leaves it.

Machine translation APIs

Integrations with translation services help you quickly translate text in Excel, localize content or work with texts in unfamiliar languages.

• DeepL: known for highly accurate and nuanced translations.
• Google Translate: the classic machine translation service. There are free functions that use the web version and a connection to the fast paid API.

APIs for SEO and PPC

• XMLRiver: search results parsing, to get full SERPs or only the URLs for subsequent clustering by SERP.
• Bukvarix: a keyword database. The integration samples keywords for one or several phrases right onto an Excel sheet.
• Pixel Tools: analyzes websites by many parameters: the number of pages in Google and Yandex indexes, the number of unique referring domains, SSL, the site’s IP address, the home page response code, the WHOIS age, DNS, the number of outgoing external links, the CMS, the average daily traffic and more.

Without any API, the add-in can also collect search suggestions and parse page titles, H1 and descriptions.

Yandex services

The add-in loads data from the Yandex advertising and analytics systems directly into Excel, without downloading reports manually:

• Yandex Direct API: statistics on ad campaigns (reports by search queries, ads, ad groups and campaigns), bids for different traffic volumes by phrase ID, and sending bids to Direct right from the Excel sheet.
• Yandex Metrica API: reports on traffic sources, sites, “from” and UTM tags, Direct campaigns and organic search phrases.
• Yandex Webmaster: popular search queries for the site and their dynamics.
• A shared OAuth token for the Yandex APIs, used by all these modules.

Exchange rates

The Central Bank of Russia API returns current exchange rates in Excel, including rates for a given date. It eliminates manual input errors and searching for data online, and lets you convert dollars, euros, yuan and many other currencies to rubles and back on the fly.
